Hi everyone,
We have a slowing dying HP Color Laserjet 4550n that we are looking to
replace. Is anyone happy with their color laser? Currently consumables are
killing my budget. Is that just the nature of the color laser beast? Any
models/brand I should avoid?
No specific recommendations but something to watch out for. At the
elementary school I work at we have a couple of GCC color laser
printers. They print nice but in addition to 4 toner cartridges they
go through two or three other consumables pretty regularly. This
isn't including the fuser. AFAIK our HP color lasers only have toner
and fuser as consumables. The additional consumables in the GCC
aren't particularly expensive but the cost adds up. And GCC has
trouble supplying them.
Moral of the story:
Check on the cost, replacement interval and availability of ALL consumables.
Oh, and the reason the GCCs were bought (by the district)... they
were cheap (up front).
