Dock settings in Tiger

I image quarterly at 3 different locations, with about 150 Laptops/ Desktops each, and I'm having a slight issue with the Dock.

Since I do not bind to any directory for authentication, I manage all settings locally. To configure the proper dock for the school the laptop is in, I have a post image action that copies a dock.plist that I made into the proper location. It used to work, but now I will usually get a lot of question marks in the dock, and the only way to fix this is to recreate the dock on the proper hardware, and then copy the plist to all the imaged computers.

Since I'm moving to Leopard I would like to know if anyone has had any issues with this, as created each dock on the specific model will not work for me.

Also, is there a way to create the Dock settings through the MCX settings (i.e. WGM) though a terminal command? I would like to do this, as I can then just have the terminal commands run as the post- action. Other than that, is there a file I can copy after manually setting the Dock MCX through WGM to get the target computer to have the correct dock?
