I prepared my "golden master" G5 mac with 10.4.11 and all
applications. I created a master image with Netrestore Helper 3.3.6.
This worked without any problem. I restored this image from my
Firewire HD to several other G5 with Netrestore 3.3.6. This worked
well except Software Update: This function is dead on the restored
target macs. Clicking on the button under the Apple Menu does
nothing, using this function within System Preferences launches a
search for Updates, but gives no results. Strange. The golden master
G5 does not show this behavior.
I checked the console log and found the following error message on
the target mac:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/MacOS/Finder: CG/
CPS: The application 'com.apple.creatorcode.swup' at '/System/Library/
CoreServices/Software Update.app/Contents/MacOS/Software Update' is
not permitted to launch because it is in the list of disallowed
applications.\n
Why is it disallowed?
Where is this list?
How can i correct this?
