I'm going to guess that maybe SmartBoardService isn't starting up (look in

You are correct, when I log in as a student it seems I have to manually
open the SmartBoardService app. I'm assuming it's supposed to start
automatically because it seems to for the adults! In WGM under user
groups managed prefs I have checked that user can open all apps on local
volume and approved apps to launch non-approved apps. I also put all of
the Smartboard files in the section for openeing specific apps. But that
didn't help. Any other thoughts?

Hello Laurie,

In WGM -> Prefs -> Login you can set the SmartBoardService to start automatically. I set this as a computer preference for all of the systems that have a SmartBoard attached and it is working well.

Hope that helps!
