Media Browser for iPhoto, iTunes, etc.

I would like to have a "media browser" in my own application like in Pages, etc., that shows content of iPhoto, iTunes, movies, etc., to be linked to a document. I thought there might be documentation on how to access that content (or better yet a built-in media browser), but could not find anything in Cocoa documentation. Is there any help for setting up such a browser?
