Correct me please if I am wrong, but so far as I know, you can ensure that
(including some reasonable guarantee it won't break with future AppKits) just
by one way -- drawing subviews yourself, instead of letting the AppKit code
to do that for you for free. The same stands for hit detection.

That's possible of course, but still it's not quite a good design generally,
since views are too heavyweight. That, of course, does not mean that in some
special cases it might not come handy, but beware...
