snmp

i need to communicate with a wireless access point using SNMP. From what i read OS 10.2 added support for it, but i cannot find anywhere in the documentation some reference to it. I am right in assuming everything is already on the user system, i just need to find how to use it, or do i need to look at net-snmp and compile the library and include it in my project?
