Is there Cocoa code out there for the commonly-needed task of copying stuff into Application Support or Library or wherever?

Do you mean, as part of application installation?

No, I mean when the app launches, it looks for stuff outside of the bundle. If the stuff is not there or is outdated, it puts it there.

Right.. but like what?

Most of the stuff in the Application Support folder is just application specific 'preferences' that don't necessarily fit as a preference.. like OmniWeb bookmarks...

most items should stay in the application bundle.. if you need to save them to the application support directory do so only after a change has been made.
