Re: Getting Mouse Moved Events

Understood. The frustration comes from expectations that things I could do in NeXTStep would be possible in OS/X. I worked on NeXTStep for 4 years, and have been enjoying getting back into the system. Clearly some things are changing, that make some things harder, and presumably make something easier or more efficient.

I would actually file a bug report on the code, since the documentation allows for what I want to do.

Now I need to find out if the events are dispatched to the responder chain generically, or if it is treating first responder in some special manner. I can certainly place a custom view enclosing the window contents to get events under my control, or subclass the window for that matter. Off I go..

It is never acceptable to have a computer NOT do what I know it can do. There is no try, or not do for that matter.

Suggestion, though (he sheepishly asks)? Maybe a little less complaining? Personally, I'm more likely to take an interest in a post (or even read it, for that matter) that asks help in determining and documenting a possible bug than one that posts shouts and characterizations to a list.
