Possible authorization problem

Hi Guys,
I think I have figured out how to authorize my app so that it can run a
terminal app as root (yes, it is necessary). But for some unknown
reason, the app (I'm running psync, so it takes a while) seems to timeout
after 8.30 minutes.

Is there some way to keep it from timing out? Should I post my code?

I know that psync is being run as root, because I checked with ps -aux
and it shows up there as belonging to root. But just as it is about to
start physically moving the updated files from my computer to the FW
drive psync does this!

root 4327 0.0 0.0 0 0 con- Z 0:00.00 (perl)

Any ideas as to what should be done (or does that depend on seeing my code?)?

Thanks,

P.S. The actual psync app works fine on a nightly basis, so that isn't
the problem.
