Thanks.. but this method is not called either unless I have to set another delegate besides the one for the tableview that I am missing.. My other delegate methods are called for the tableView but none that allows me to verify the textfield in the tableview before it calls setObjectValue. I suppose I could just not set the object in setObjectValue..

I am unable to figure out how to get the current text being editing in
the selected table cell to verify if it is acceptable when this method
is called. I've tried [aTableView currentEditor] which returns nil and
[aTableView stringValue] which returns empty string.
