Automatically opening attachments is a convenience for the user, too. That doesn't make it a good idea.

Nobody is understanding what I'm saying. Probably because my subject is a little misleading. It isn't "automatic" in that it happens without the user telling it to. The user still is alerted and has a clear understanding of what is happening. That is what makes it different than things that just spontaneously happen. It's totally unrelated to attachments opening themselves.

But if such a feature were to exist, I would think it should be done through a special API like authentication and not "automatically" by calling listen() like I previously suggested. But I'm not going to push this further anyway because I don't really care very much. I just think it would be a nice, convenient feature.
