Soooo...

1. Could someone out there with 10.2.8 give it a try? (and ideally tell me where it breaks in gdb)

I'm not using OS X 10.2.8, but I can tell you why it's not working...

% otool -L TAMSAnalyzer
TAMSAnalyzer:
/System/Library/Frameworks/QuickTime.framework/Versions/A/ QuickTime (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 47.0.0)
/System/Library/Frameworks/Cocoa.framework/Versions/A/Cocoa (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 11.0.0)
@executable_path/../Frameworks/SMySQL_bundled.framework/ Versions/A/SMySQL_bundled (compatibility version 2.0.0, current version 2.3.1)
/usr/lib/libmx.A.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 92.0.0)
/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 88.0.0)

libmx doesn't exist under Mac OS X 10.2.8. I'm going to take an educated guess that you built the program using GCC 4.0, and if so, then you need to rebuild it with GCC 3.3 and then it should work.
