If you have $700 to spend, you can use the MacSQL Framework
http://www.rtlabs.com/fwork/ to gain access to IB Palettes for SQL stuff,
too.

Remember that if you use the MySQL client C library, then you are
required to either purchase a commercial license or release your Cocoa
app under the terms of the GPL.
