Re: saving jpg's in pdfs

I want to embed a view as a jpg in a pdf page, but allow successive pages in the same pdf. So either one you mention will work for what I want but in general, it would be nice if Cocoa api for generating pdfs took the individual components to render the resulting pdf files using the embedded source files is used for an external source, provided the source was not altered in the view itself. As it stands now, and it is great but not perfect, when you save a view or sent it off to print to pdf, the bitmap stuff is stored as uncompressed image data. Hence a full page scanned 150 dpi 8.5 X 11 page is quite a ridiculous size. If the file was compressed in jpg and embedded as source into a multipage pdf, then you get the benefits of compression and the portability of pdf.
