Dear Jeff I recently posted the same query and some kind soul informed me that the easiest was to use the specification from the OpenLDAP site (since the Darwin implementation follows that exactly) and then to reference /System/Library/Frameworks/LDAP.framework from within your Cocoa project. This should allow you to access the C routines described in the OpenLDAP spec. Apparently LDAP is so widely documented that Apple does not bother to do it themselves.
