Re: Geometric shapes with Ink Services

Making a demo is easy. Making a fully supported, reliable, developer- extensible API is a whole separate ball of wax :)

Hi guys,

How about using an open source mouse gestures framework as a way to start writing a recogniser for these shapes? That would be a feasible approach, me thinks...
By the way, it is amazing that in the late 60's they were demoing an app using a light pen that was able to do this and now with many times the processing power we still have no such capability built- in... Rather sad IMHO.

No. Ink only recognizes the printed Roman Character set. No Japanese, Chinese, Korean, or Arabic. No math symbols. No Cursive. And no Geometric shapes!

Furthermore, there is no plugin architecture for you to add your own shape / symbol libraries or recognizers.

Is there any way to do geometric shape recognition with Ink Services?
