Re: Database communication with Cocoa UI



Unfortunately, Oracle doesn't currently have an Instant Client available for Intel-based Macs - only on PowerPC... therefore, right now, you can only directly talk to Oracle through Rosetta on Intel Macs or through Java / JDBC (which isn't really an option anymore in Cocoa). You can also use ODBC connectors and go that route - but that has issues as well, and isn't as clean as using the Oracle OCCI (or OCI) interfaces.

We speak with our Oracle reps weekly asking for this. They haven't even tossed us a bone unfortunately.
