Re: Programmatically placing an item in the dock

Quite simply there is no public API to control the dock. The closest (and hacky) solution is to modify the dock's plist and restart it.

Hi everyone,

I would like to add and remove an item in the dock (preferably with a nice poof when removed) programmatically without restarting the dock. I can't find a way to do this in 10.5. Do any of you know if this is possible?

Thanks,
Ollie
