ColorPass Z-Series, Characterization & Simulations

Hello all. I request clarification on 2 issues with the ColorPass Z-Series controllers.

1. What is the procedure for turning off all of the color modifying options in the Printer Specific Options? I wish to build CMYK profiles with CompassProfile. Is the CMYK Simulation Profile Off enough? What about Rendering Style and Output Profile? And performing AutoCal? Is that one question? : )

2. Absolute Rendering Style and CMYK Simulation Profile. I loaded a Newspaper CMYK profile with ColorWise that I like to use in my BestColor RIP. When I use the Absolute Rendering Style on the ColorPass there is no paper simulation on the output. Can this be done with color managed on the Fiery - or does color need to be managed on the workstations to get the paper color simulation?
