Euro Standards

Do the earlier comments re: Euro standards apply to CTP (computer-to-plate)
printing as well, or is this a different animal?
I've recently seen some CTP books done by Mariogros (Ithaly) from digital
files (but not files created by the printer) and they looked great.
Planning on printing a book this way and would welcome input.
