Hexachrom/OG & Large Format Printing rips

I`m playing around with Mimakis JV4 and orange green inks for a few weeks
now. But colormanagement still offers some surprises.
So my question at the forum is:
Who manages the orange green using in usual large format rips like
postershop or wasatch?

My opinion is - the rip separates incoming colors into the six machine
colors.
Am i totally wrong, if i say that it is not necessary to use verry expensive
icc profiling softwares with the ability to build hexachrome profiles
because the orange green usement is managed by the rip-not by the icc
profile?
