The Colorburst RIP that now comes with an Epson bundle is part of three
components. The Epson 4000, an Ethernet card and the RIP. If you were to
dissect the costs of the this bundle, the RIP sells for around $100. Epson
is responsible for support for this version of the RIP.

>From what I have seen with this stripped down RIP is that it only has two
queues instead of four that are in the full versions of Xproof etc. The
linearization only allows a re lin and the profiles are hardwired so you can
only use those profiles that are supplied for most all of the Epson papers.
You can do black and white and color just like in the full versions.

The big features of this rip is that it is easy, cross platform, it will
take PostScript related files and create good color results out of the box.

If you want to do custom profiles then you would want the full version of
Xproof or Xphoto.

I hope that helps.
