Nathan,
what about when using an epson 2200? you still need to choose a paper type when printing. isn't the paper type a profile too? we have four 2200s in-house and i'd love to be able to create profiles for them that aren't built on top of epson's paper profile. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Turning color management off in Photoshop is all you will need to do as long
as you aren't turning ColorSync on in the printer driver.
