You can get a print quality difference - i.e. sharpness and small detail,
but not really a colour shift. On an image itself you are unlikely to ever
see any problems, but if you have any rendered text in an image, you might
see jagged edges on you text.

It can also help if you are printing images with a repeating pattern - such
as clothing, bags, roof tiles etc. to stop a moiré pattern.

Normally if you have a RIP, it can sort out any problems with resolution.
