Re: RIPs [was: Shiraz Rip and How to get great prints]

Yes, Rolf, but I find its operation daunting. I have a hard time with anything line-command-driven, and I am close to completely clueless about Unix in particular. And to make it all worse, the few instructions that I found on how to use it read like Greek to me (and I am not Greek...).

Furthermore, I am not clear what this program will do for me that I cannot do already or that I need to have for my work. Could you explain to me what I would gain from using it, in terms as practical as possible, please? Certainly, if I go to the extent of learning to use a mind-bending (I'm talking about MY OWN mind) line-command-driven app like this one, first I want to make sure that it's worth the candle.

The argyll CMS of course has it's roots in the Linux world, which has no built in CMS.
But it is now running on Windows and Mac as well.

The main difference to other CMS is that it's Open Source. Everyone can review it and make changes to it.
How many things would the people here on the list like to be changed or documented by Apple or Microsoft.

Argyll CMS is a profiling package at no cost.

The command line thing is something I don't like either. I've started to program a user interface that uses
AppleScript on the Mac. Not a big thing, but simply time consuming.
If I have some spare time I will finish these and make them available for everyone, but I guess this
will not be before the end of year.
