Re: No Profiles Showing Up in Profile Lists

I just had to rebuild my disk after a crash, and am finding that, although, my

profiles folders (system, global, and local) are populated just as before, no

profiles are showing up in profile lists, such as the Displays preference pane

or in Photoshop's lists. They also don't show up in the ColorSync Utility, but

problem profiles DO show up in Profile First Aid (the same set that usually

does). The Artisan application sees its profiles as installed (and the monitor

looks profiled), but there is an empty list in Displays. Double-clicking a

profile causes it to open normally in ColorSync Utility.

Permissions are mixed, all owned by system:admin, some with 777 permissions,

some with 644, some with 755, but none show up. the Profiles folder has

read/write permissions for system:admin.

What's up, and how can I goose things back into normality?

First thing, I would run the repair disk permissions routine from within the Apple Disk Utility. If that doesn't fix it then you may think about resorting to something like Cocktail. Also, if handy I would run a disk diagnostic utility like Disk Warrior (v3.03) or the volume structure routine of Tech Tool Pro (v4.0.4).

Good luck,
