Hi Paul,
If you are talking about booting Classic from within OX 10.4 then I can help. I found after the last update to Tiger I could not boot Classic from within OS X. I still could boot directly into OS 9.2.2 from a restart or cold start after setting the new startup disk. If this is your problem, here is the fix. Fasten you seat belt, you will never guess this one.
Remove the Dvix 5 component in the following location. "Root,/Library/Quicktime"
I did a search using Google and found this fix. I would have never guessed that this could effect the Classic boot. Of course, if you have not installed Divix 5, then this is of no help.
I hope this helps,
Ray

Hi All,
The problem with the 14 bit p/c Creo Eversmart scanner *no SCSI connection in Classic* becomes a real pain now that I have started to work with CS2 and upgraded to Tiger. The latest 10.4.2 upgrade (I'm taking guesses) has tweaked something in my G4 and it won't boot in OS9 any more. If someone knows or has heard of a fix to make the non oXYgen supported Eversmart scanners work in Classic, SCSI card or program patch, please let me know about it! Thanks!
Regards
