When one isn't working in direct sunlight and doesn't want to run down the
battery or blow out the display backlight faster than necessary.

PowerBooks have some nice displays for general work, but they're still
nothing I would consider appropriate for any application where accurate
color is a necessity. Just tilting the lid slightly is enough to make
everything shift.
