You are absolutely right: Illustrator CS2 NOW SUPPORTS Lab!!!

I say the world has come to a stop. This is the best news for a looooonnnng
time in the DTP business! Thank you Adobe, thank you Adobe and thank you
Adobe for freeing us from the slavery of device dependent color coordinates
in Illustrator CS2 at last!

So, for all those designers out there, stop specifying Pantone colors in
CMYK when meaning spot colors: use Lab!
