When we scan a B&W print into RGB in order to keep the subtle tonalities, and then send it to a separator/printer as part of a larger 4-colro book project, the image is converted to CMYK (by them or us) and the resulting image in the book is made up of CMYK dots, even though it may basically appear to be B&W. Simple enough. When we send a grayscale file though, in the same Quark document that has a range of different RGB image files in it, does the resulting image in the book only contain black dots, or does it get converted to CMYK in some way?
Thanks!
