Could someone please explain why in an output profile (be it an RGB or
CMYK) there isn't more than 16 grid points in A2B table?
At least this is what I have observed so far...
It's up to the profile creation software. Technically the maximum
is a resolution of 255, but there are also limits imposed
by the available RAM, the 4 Gigabytes tag offset limit,
and the time you're prepared to wait.
I've played with resolutions of up to 23 for for a CMYK A2B table,
45 for an RGB A2B table, and 45 for the B2A table, but all these
are rather arbitrary.
