Is Bill comparing the two files in Measure Tool using the visual, random or
"as measured" layout? There are 3 ways to view the data here, and each uses
a completely different distribution of letter-number coordinates.

With all due respect, I think that Mark's statement is too sweeping, at
least in this instance. It's my impression that in most cases the bafflement
of users regarding color management is due to a mistaken interpretation of
procedures and workflows, rather than an inherent shortcoming of color
management per se.
