There's no point in that for a LUT based profile, unless the grid
resolution is 256, making it rather a large profile (Over a 100 Mbytes).
The real trouble is that even if you measured 16.7 million patches,
there's still noise in all the readings, but now it has a very
fine texture.
Some of the people in the movie business do characterize film
recorders by measuring 35937 patches, ie. a full 33^3 grid.
That's about 25 minuites of footage.
