I have a client in CA that uses the Xerox Machine, which DOES
handle tabloid
size. However, their built in color profiles are impossible to
bypass with
custom profiles.
Using PhaserMatch there is a way to bypass the internal profiles for
profiling purposes.
I tried and tried, even the Xerox "experts" couldn't help.
Sorry to hear that.
Also, I am wondering about the Color Matching Sofware that Xerox is
seding out with some of their printers. Is it valuable?
Yes, it is the only way to handle profiles inside of the printer.
It is a variant of Monaco Color.
Using the EyeOne interface for calibration works nicely (Calibration
with EyeOne available for free with PhaserCal).
Using the "scanner"-interface and IT-8 is not worth trying.
Best results when creating the printer profile externally
(basICColor, PM5 etc) and just creating and downloading the device
link profiles within PhaserMatch.
Be sure to obtain the latest release 4.0. Older versions have some
severe bugs in the EyeOne driver when using OS X 10.4. Versions prior
to 3.0.4a don't generate nice profiles.
Is it any better than profiling with PM5?
You have to decide.
