Are any ISO 9000 certified shops out there are performing there own calibration/certification on their instruments (Spectros and densitometers) in order to meet instrument calibration/recertification requirements for ISO 9000? For example, purchasing BCRA tiles or other reference material that's traceable to a standards organization that you would measure on a periodic basis with your devices to compare to initial results, and if out of tolerance, only then send the device to the manufacturer for maintenance/recertification ? Michael - you obviously have lots of instruments - we have about 10 ish and
pay about (say) $600 every 6 months for someone from ??? to come in and
calibrate them .
Peter
This conforms with our ISO 9000 procedures - but I don't know who
comes in - I am sure they are not from the sandwich van across the
road
