Hi,mailto:email@hidden
I am currently developing MacOS X host application for VST plugins.
I use mach-o/dyld executable format, CF services such as collections, core audio, core midi and other advanced technologies of OS X. Well, my opinion is: All of these technologies are compatible with VST plugins, although calling from CFM to dyld and back is a bit mysterious. It seems, that VST plugins can live with OSX, but everything depends on Steinberg, who probably plan to change MacOS format from code resource to ???... In contrary to our PC VST host, we don't use asio on OS X, we must only move data from interleaved to separated buffers for VST<->OSX HAL exchange.
Best Regards

I hope one of the goals in OS X is to avoid the proprietary/pseudo-generic
driver architectures of the past (like ASIO, OMS etc.).
BTW: I would glad to hear more about the possibility using audio plug-ins in
X.
I never believe that every of the 10.000+ VST developers will port his
plug-in to OS X.
A generic VST plug-in wrapper from Apple could be a cool solution. Correct
me, if I'm wrong.

Subject: ASIO on X?
Hi there,_______________________________________________
Does anybody know about the future of ASIO on Mac OS X?
Just curious if it will be alive or not.
