I am connecting ConverterUnits to the mixer's input - so far, I could not get any output from it. Did
anyone else try that? I think I'll have to setup a separate project, just to figure out the MatrixMixer
outside my main app.

Haven't used the ConverterUnit but you should ensure that the number of channels and the channel layout (OK Bill? ;-) of the ConverterUnit match the input bus it's connected to otherwise it won't work. Also make sure you disable any unused input buses.

I found fiddling with the MatrixMixerTest app to be very helpful. At least you're starting with something that works so when you change something and it stops working you can try and figure out why. (If you want it to play audio make sure you have some 32 bit float interleaved stereo audio files lying around.)
