The U3H is the main system controller. It connects the CPU(s) to the memory system, AGP and the hyper transport bus. This is an Apple designed part that is fabbed at the same facility the 970 is (at least this was the case at WWDC 2K3). As for K2 I only know what is in the tech specs, so I can only assume it is also a custom part.
