Also, the only detailed documentation I can find is, well, the code
itself and the couple examples that create custom Carbon views.
More docs would be much appreciated.
Of course I find the ReadMe.rtf just after posting this. It points to:

Which has this to say about AUCarbonViewBase (which is what I meant
to type instead of CarbonGenericView, I think):
"There are a set of classes for implementing user interface views in
Carbon. The documentation on these classes will be forthcoming."
