Thanks Dominic--I wasn't aware of this behavior of the G5 at all. (Much like I wasn't aware of the ability to troubleshoot AU behavior with kAudioUnitProperty_LastRenderError.)


...one of these days I'm going to learn enough about CoreAudio that I don't embarrass myself every time I write to the list. Anyway, I'll be taking Bill's advice and doing more diagnosis, and I'll keep this in mind.
