I'm trying to work out if it's possible to write an Audio Unit that will process MIDI. As in, it's inserted into the Logic channel strip as an effect and able to send MIDI down the chain to the instrument plug-in? It looks like MidiOutputCallback may be the correct thing to use, but perhaps Logic doens't (yet) support it. Should I be creating my own virtual midi ports inside the AU?
