That would certainly be the first area I would consider as a candidate. Rosetta doesn't support precise exceptions. If xerces depends upon this, then you cannot run it under Rosetta.

I'm pretty sure Xerces doesn't require precise (i.e. machine state) exceptions, though, just regular C++ exception handling. That works fine in Rosetta, as do lots of applications which use Xerces.
