a) Make a copy of the original /etc/rc as a backup
b) comment out the call to dynamic_pager
c) reboot.
Or run the program completely in single user ;-)
Another option is to move the pager from /var/vm to a statically-
mounted FS on a different controller, if that provides enough of a
separation between your interested and unfortunately coincident disk
activities.
