I am experimenting with using Instrument's UI Recorder to automate some Installation testing. I've noticed some strange behavior in different locales. In English, it works fine but if I switch to some others, the UI is not played back to Installer.app. My minimal test case is to be in the English locale, start Instruments with the UI Recorder trace template, and have it run Installer.app with no arguments. When Installer.app prompts for a package, I just hit cancel.
If I switch to French, and hit Drive & Record, the UI from the last step is not played back. Similar results if I start Instruments with French as the locale, or if I start Instruments, swithc to French, and record the trace template with the French locale.
Am I missing something obvious here? It does work in other locales: Italian, and en-GB. But the others I've tried(nl, de, es, zh-*) don't work. It's with the Xcode 3.1 Tools
