Re: PAM questions. HELP!

With regard to my issue with getting ftpd to accept users who were only
defined in LDAP, I finally got it working. The problem was that the LDAP
search was case insensitive, but always returning upper-cased short names.
When attempting to ftp into the server I used lower case short names, which
were looked up in LDAP but LDAP returned the UC version. So at that point
ftpd decided it was not the right user and did not bother to check the
password.

So in my LDAP bridge(/proxy) I am now about to lower-case all cn attributes
that are returned from the master LDAP server.

Problem solved. Thanks to those who assured me that it was possible :-)
