about /dev/fd

I have seen that in my /dev/fd directory I have only four files: /dev/fd/0...../dev/fd/3,
instead all my friends have six files /dev/fd/0...../dev/fd/5.
Does anyone know if this is a bad symptom for my file system, and eventually how I can reestablish the missing files?
