I don't think you're going to have much luck making ACE support threads on Darwin, at least for the time being. Some of the current pthreads problems are being fixed for the next release, which will help a lot, but ACE is pretty demanding, and I won't be surprised if its regression test still reports many failures, even with the latest fixes in place.
