I have found that putting IOSleep(10);
after the IOLog() solves this problem.
Of course it also sucks big time.

10 is the smallest value I can use on a 733mhz
machine. I have not experimented with other CPUs
to see if the value needs to change - it might well,
can Apple comment ?
