Re: Kernel panic in AppleFWOHCI

Hi,

when a Powerbook Titanium wakes up with my PC-Card, 4 out of 5 times

Here is some info from the screen:

Darwin Kernel Version 5.3
Memory access exception (1,0,0)

Peeking with gdb shows the crash happens at IOWorkLoop::checkForWork,
but the addresses involved do not have anything to do with my driver.
Actually my driver has just downloaded its firmware (it is a RAM based
comm device) and is ready for service. I do essentially the same
sleep/wake procedure as in my USB driver, which works fine.

I do not see the relation between my kext waking up and the FireWire
driver, but the panic only occurs when my kext has been loaded.

Any help, hints or tips are appreciated!

Thanks

Bernd

Try disabling sections of your driver until the kernel no longer panics. This may help determine whether your driver is responsible, and if so, what section is able to most easily trigger that panic.
